Any families who have a rising kindergartener or teen entering middle or high school in Wake County will benefit from the information session and learn about their choices of the public schools.
The sessions will include the following topics,
Introduction to the different magnet schools
How to apply to magnet schools (elementary, middle & high schools)
How to transfer into a magnet school
Questions and answers

About the Magnet School Program:
The Wake County Magnet Program is part of the Wake County public school system. It offers families choices to their base schools. Each magnet school offers a unique theme, such as year-round, gifted and talented, Gifted & Talented AG Basics, Montessori, creative arts and science, leadership, and technology. All WCPSS families may apply to attend the magnet schools for their areas. Applications are selected through a random computerized process using different criteria.
Application period for year 2009 is between 2/9 and 2/28, and magnet applications will only be accepted online.
